Six month old to be little Rice

Look at how much this little boy has grown.

Sigh, my boy is soon to reach his half year on planet Earth. How time flies!! From a small little munchkin to one of the cheekiest babies around. By looking at my son, I am constantly reminded not to judge a book by its cover coz as innocent and 'cute' as he may look, he drives me nuts!

He doesn't sleep much for his age. Since he 'found' his voice, he likes to wail and scream to grab attention. He likes to throw his towels and toys onto the floor (clearing his highchair i guess). And he likes to laugh a lot. LOL. He laughs for no reason sometimes.

 

This is my little boy Micaiah at almost six months old. He is sure growing fast and big. A hefty weight of 10.5 kg and 72 cm tall. And, did I mention he has a BIG head? It's so big, even a one year old shirt's opening cannot go through. LOL.

Autumn is finally here and I'm back to my masters! It has been difficult managing my time so far but then again, week no 1 is always hard! I find myself stuck in the midst of many chores and assignments. Sigh, n a little baby boy to care for. Really hope i can settle in soon and delegate my roles properly. This autumn has been pretty hot too, in fact, for the last few days the temperature scorched up to 35 degrees! Double sigh, with the unbearable heat and confusion; it was excruciating hard to focus and study properly.  And poor Micaiah went red all over.

5 months to be

My dear sweetie Micaiah is nearly 5 months old. Phewww, how time flies! I am hoping everyday that he will not grow up too soon; that he will remain mommy's little boy for as long as he can. He is such a bundle of joy, and he's turning into a little cheeky pumpkin pie. 

This was the look he gave when i put his pants on his head. Hahahahaha.

Tomorrow is the last day of CNY. And Little Micaiah wishes everyone a blessed and happy new year ahead!

Sigh, i am resuming my masters in 1.5 weeks after a long break ..... and I will sure think of my boy in lectures!

CNY and Valentine's Day

Happy Belated Valentine's Day and Gong Xi Gong Xi folks! How did your hols go? We had a very quiet festive season here in Melbourne; it's not a public holiday and people don't celebrate here but we do have firecrackers and carnival events, which shows that the chinese population is growing in this city.

 

Valentine's Day was like any other day for us too, except that we managed to steal some time to watch Les Miserables. Wasn't tat a great movie? Love it, although i find it a bit tad too long.

 

Though quiet, Micaiah had a great time embracing his first Lunar New Year. My uncle (his granduncle) and his family came and had a reunion lunch with us. Both Michael and I worked hard that day to prepare the spread and it was a great time gathering and feasting with each other. Thank God for CNY!

I tried to make it looked more 'CNY'.

 

I also managed to make CNY goodies such as the must have pineapple tarts, peanut cookies, date cookies, seaweed crackers, nian gao popiahs (yes!! n they were good), kek lapis and roasted nuts. Gave some to the moms in my playgroup, neighbour, friends and uncle.

 

On the third day of CNY, we took some time out to the beach in Frankston which is about an hour drive from Melbourne. It was the first long car trip for Micaiah, and ended up a rather unpleasant one as he was getting uncomfortable and started crying hard before we even got home! My poor dear was so terrified; it took us some time to comfort and calm him down. Was it the infant seat or the fact that it is facing backwards that upsets him? Nowadays he seems to dislike car trips, and i mean a lot.

 

Well this is my rock star trying to cover from the shinning sun and heat at the beach. Haha.

 

We are having more visitors tomorrow for steamboat and i am still comtemplating if i should bake a cheesecake. OR maybe not. LOL.

4 months

My hefty woofy son weighing at 8.816kg and measuring upto 68cm at 4 months and 2 days! Wooofffff.. all thanks to superior breastmilk!

Micaiah at 3.5 months

Took us many efforts to make him smile for the camera

Isn't he the sweetest boy? Dear Micaiah is now 3.5 months old, another two weeks and he'll be four months old! Phew, how time flies! He cries so much lesser nowadays and smiles more; and he's definitely a very talkative baby! 

He likes babbling and chatting in his own language. Every time he sees us he would give his lovely smile. I remember him bursting his first laughter on January 7. I was eating my dinner and my mom in law put him up on the dining table to sit facing me. He stared and looked as i ate and all of a sudden he burst out into laughter. Kekekeke then stopped. Keekekekeke then stopped. He laughed repeatedly until i went to grab my phone and start focusing on him. This little boy dislikes taking pictures, so like always after seeing the phone, he put down his head and started looking downwards to avoid the camera. Didn't know why he laughed; maybe he thought his mom was funny.

This little boy likes sticking to his dad. He puts on his best behaviour when daddy is around. He sleeps sounder when daddy is sleeping next to him. And he smiles to daddy ALL the time even when daddy is not smiling to him. (Hey Hey it's mommy who gave birth to you!)

He's definitely growing very big nowadays. In fact, he is taller and bigger than most babies his age. His growing chart shows that he falls into the 90th percentile curve; which means, only 10% of babies his age is longer than him!

I have many people asking me if he likes hats a lot. LOL. Haha, not him but his mom!!

How's your new year 2013? Not a great start for us, but God has been gracious and wonderful! Am still feeling very thankful despite the circumstances we are in; besides, when God is for us, who shall be against us??! My GOD is bigger than everything and I am looking forward to a bright 2013!! God bless!
