I need more sleep?

Think i was too stressed yesterday, my face looks horrible this morning. More pimples and redder. Sigh...**Sigh, just wondering how i'll look like in 3 months.

Was a little late to work this morning, not later than 8am, but later than my usual time, so i decided to take my breakfast while driving and waiting during traffic jams in the car. Spent the whole morning correcting someone else's writeup which i find really tedious and unbelievable. What an effort for a big price..** Sigh.
Have a wedding dinner to attend tomorrow night, but still am not sure whether i should go or not. I think i need more sleep and rests but it doesn't sound good not to attend because a seat has been reserved for me. In dilemma now...emm, maybe i should go. Can observe and do some food testing for my own banquet.
Mr PA is starting his work tomorrow at PWC. I could feel that he's very excited about it, and i'm happy for him also. I know the training is important, and would be very useful for his professional development in the future. After so long of waiting and sacrificing i really hope he gets what he deserves in the end, and this includes success in career and everything.
Nothing much today, a bit cloudy and looks like it's gonna rain soon. Am trying to finish up the last portion of everything of the Project, but sadly am still unable to deliver to the client by today as they will be bound to kch for boss' review.

Overtime

It's Sunday today and i'm back to work. One last consultant is supposed to send me his assessment writeup today but only received one mail in my mailbox and nothing from him. So typical...always like that...*Sigh * Sigh****
Like i promised last week, here are some pics of the egg tarts i have made throughout the week.

Think i made these on last Monday morning, if i'm not wrong (memory very bad nowadays :-P). The crust wasn't as good as it should be yet, and i had quite a difficult time removing them out from the mould. According to some testers, they tasted ok and similar to the outside ones.
Just a quick comparison with the outside ones in terms of "looks", i've attached the below pic. Guess i don't have to point out which one was made by me, and which one was bought. Like they always say, a picture worths a thousand words.................. lalalala...

Decided to make smaller ones at the end of the week, and this was the result i got. Kimmie said they tasted much much better than the big ones, first because i used a different recipe for the crust pastry, and secondly, i baked them longer so they are crunchier and 'buttery'.

Well, i better get back to work..it's 1.35 already. Am thinking of leaving at 3 or latest 4pm.

Chaoosss...wish me all the best in getting the report done!! :-)

It hurts really bad

Today is not a very good day after all. I tried and worked my best only to meet failure. Hmm, learnt a big big lesson today. Never put too much attention, effort and hope in work, than you should. There should be a balance in life; just like the balance between work and play. I was leaning too much on the other side so i fell and it hurts really bad. But i'm not satisfied!

Soaring above the sky

Hip hip hurray..i'm in the verge of flying above the sky coz my report will be completed today! Well though certain sections will be missing, i am certain that by sunday night everything will be in order (i hope at least).

Made some egg and cheese tarts last night and almost all were grabbed away by Kimmie and her friends this morning. Didn't leave some for Dad or Mom, but will make again tonight. Am targeting coconut tarts and portugese egg tarts this time. Portugese egg tarts would be a bit more troublesome, as puff pastry is involved and cream is needed for the 'eggy' batter. Nevertheless, it should be relatively easier to remove them from the mould, as the surface would be 'smoother' compared to shortcrust pastry tarts.

Mr PA is so excited coz he's about to start his internship in pwc soon. Though i'm ok with it, it just freaks me out when i start thinking of the persistent nights and overtimes that he has to sacrifice on work work and work. Maybe i'm too used of him being 'available' at most of the times, but i support him in whatever he does. Also, i hope his working attires still fit him after a size increment of ............................................

:-P

Removing egg tarts from mould

Made egg tarts again, and i'm still figuring the best way to get them out from the mould. I think besides greasing them, the important thing is also to allow them to cool for say 5 mins before removing. Otherwise the middle part will get kinda 'squashy' and fall apart. I bought an egg tart at the same time, just to compare mine and those being sold outside. They didn't really use an egg tart mould, you know..those with lines at the sides, but rather a muffin tin. Hmm..maybe i should try using the muffin tin, should be able to get them out easier. Once i figure how to get them out in nice and good shape, i will improve and work on my recipe!
I burnt my thumb (again) when trying to remove them from the hot mould. Aching now, there's a big white blister which i presume would retain water inside. Well,no pain no gain..and it'll recover soon :-)
Back to pulp mill now, another professor has just sent me his report.....Good day and God Bless!!

Working HARD

It's nearly 8pm now, and i'm still working in the office. Decided to take a break after working for more than 8 hours today continuously which i didn't realise at all! Time seems to fly faster when you're occupied, just like me now..ding dong-ing with the impacts and mitigation measures. Not so stressed with this though, just the comparision of emission limits with international standards that freaks me out, coz it seems like the mill can't meet at certain parts..no matter how i calculate and manipulate the figures. I had to do everything myself coz the client doesn't really have these updated infos, and worst still is, the sub-consultants weren't very helpful.
I hope i can have them ready by tomorrow afternoon to be sent off to boss to review. The draft reports must be out on Monday, it's my target and deadline promised to the client. Though i don't necessarily have to meet it, i decided that i need to, first because it's not fair to other clients who are waiting for me to finalise their reports and second because i couldn't focus on other stuff if i don't finalise this. Of course, the incentive is important, but not as important as my time and work management for the other Projects. And certainly, as i'm leaving, i hope to see the results of the Project before i leave as this is really and purely my hard work. :-)

Chaos

Yesterday was a chaos. Petrol stations throughout Sabah especially KK was packed with long queues of panicked vehicle owners after word spread that the stations were closing for three days. The panic-buying started at about 3pm, and queues at petrol stations caused massive traffic jam, which was about the time i reached KK from Sipitang. I thought the price was increasing again, din know that it was due to some 'rumours'. The bad thing was the waja ran out of petrol the moment i reached KK, and thought of filling it up but all kiosks were full. Gosh..should have filled it up in Sipitang.

Well besides that, the rumour doesn't really affect me. My car petrol tank was half full, sufficient for the week. Just that, the jam was so horrible, i was stucked in it for like almost half to 45 minutes despite the fact that my house is only along that stretch of line! These people are soo kiasu!

Drove like more than 300km yesterday, kinda enjoy the drive and trip. I find it quite relaxing to go on this kinda trip sometimes, though it's for work and not play. To me, it's a getaway from the pc and office for a while.

This morning, i re-made the egg tarts from the remaining pastry and egg batter in just an hour before work. Could only make three though, as the shortcrust pastry batter wasn't enough to make more. Took MR PA's advice and spread some oil before molding the tarts. The result was quite good, took some photos..will post them tomorrow after loading. Still need some improvements though, pastry was still sticking and i had to hit and bang before they could come out. Oh well...they still smell pretty good.

Back to work now...going to rush for my pulp mill project. Am targeting to submit on the 30th so may need to work overtime these few nights and Sunday.

Great weekend

Here comes Monday...again...Brought some red bean soup, but they spilled inside the plastic bag, wetting my blueberry muffin and bao..:-( Still edible though.

Had a great weekend with the kids, seems like i can't miss Praise Kids nowadays...there's a stange power that's pulling me there, the more tired i am, the more my heart desires to go...Watching and spending time with the little ones just melt my heart somehow...and how God loves each and every one of them..well, in summary, i'm glad and happy to be of service to God to look after these little kids.

Last Sat was classroom time, so thought of baking some cakes for the little 5 year olds in my class instead of buying junks and sweets. Rose pretty late that Sat morning,so didn't start until 11am, and this was the result i got at 12pm.

THE double CHOCO chips muffins...11 pieces of them...all fresh from the oven for the kids!! Thought they looked simple and dull so at 12.15pm, i decided to add something:

JESUS LOVES YOU!...and so do I!! I wrote this phrase on the 11 muffins, placed them in individual plastic containers...and by 12.45pm, everything was done, so i rushed up to shower and change. Was out before 1.30pm after my bao.

Dunno whether the kids love them or not, but hope they do. Stephie couldn't wait to reach home to eat it up, though i told her numerous times not to do so, she kept insisting until the point Auntie AL couldn't bear but to open up and allow her to eat. Gobbled up half way, with crumbs all over her mouth and sweet dress, she claimed that she was full di...and i had to throw it away for her (what a waste!) . She even dirtied the whole floor which i had to clean up for her! This little girl is always gluttonous when comes to food, yet very cute and adorable....People claimed she looks like me, the features and stuff.. as we both have round face, chubby cheeks and a little sharp chin. I don't believe i'm as cheeky or 'shi chi' as her though!

Did a little baking again on Sunday, coz we went home early right after breakfast...so thought of making something usual, something which i can't make at normal times due to time constraint and stuff. With only six eggs in the house, i made six EGG TARTS.

Hehe, i admit they look good on pic, but sadly, they got stucked on the mould and couldn't come out so we had to eat from the mould, with a spoon to dig them out. Promised myself that i'll improve next time... so that everyone can enjoy them. Also made some blueberry muffins which i brought today, but didn't take pics as have done so last week.

Troubleshooting

Am just wondering why Mr PA cannot access into my blog. Trying to sort the settings and see what i can do so that he can view it everytime.
Today is a very busy again, as usual, my table is messy and reports are all over. Trying to compare the pulp effluent limit to some international standards. Cracking my head till 12.30pm, and didn't even realise it is lunch break already (DUH!). Busy busy busy.....i just couldn't put down everything and rest...want to get things done here as soon as i can, especially when this month marks the end of the 2nd quarter incentive...hehe
I just finished reading the last empress..switching to a new book which i have kept for a long time. Haven't touched it since i bought it. The Last Empress was good, just that it contradicts with what historians claimed...while most people had a very bad impression of this dowager empress, the book seems to side her a lot.
Anyway, going for a facial soon....my face terribly needs it!

Another normal day

Today is another day. Didn't know what title to put for the post today coz it seems like it's the same everyday. The cha sao bao price increases to RM1.70 di from RM1.60 last time, yet the size shrinks smaller. If my salary doesn't increase further, i think i'm going to boycott my own country soon. Sometimes i wonder if it's logical: i studied hard to gain an engineerring degree in hope that i could get a good job, and now work as hard as i could, yet still earn so little and my salary can't even afford the current costly lifestyle! :-(

Like i said earlier on, today is another normal day. Came to work, and finally finished with the summary of solid waste management study before going back to the pulp mill project. Didn't realise it was lunch time already, and was kinda hungry but lazy to go out and buy food. This is so typical me...hehehehe

People are falling sick nowadays, many people around me including myself have contracted some cold diseases....think the virus is spreading around. Will get better soon with some honey lemon which i'm about to make now!

Pulp and Paper Mill

Lunch time...phew..Time flies! Just clocked into work this morning, and it's lunch time already! Didn't realise it until they switched off the lights, and the smell of maggy mee starts to float in the air...chicken flavour i believe hehehe. Was busy with some dioxin-furan research when colleague interrupted to discuss about nothing but the pulp mill...Seems like it is always associated with me.
Whether you believe it or not, seems like that's the way. After graduation, one of the uncles who saw me growing up in the church since i was a baby recommended me to work in the mill (coz he has some connections there), the exact same mill which i'm assessing now. After two years, here am i, in an environmental consultant firm...conducting a detailed environmental impact assessment study for the same pulp and paper mill!!

The Last Empress

Energized today..had an early and good sleep last night. After a short chat with Mr PA, managed to fall asleep right away hehehe, but i remember receiving a message from him also :-).
Woke up at 5am again, JJ made some sushis the night before, and left Kimmie with some 'spoilt' disgusting-looking ones. Hehe, better than nothing for her i guess.......
I love the The Last Empress book very much!! Gives me the desire to search more about the history of China and how each dynasty is like...Mr PA promised that he will tell me stories after stories every night..hope he keeps it. Will look into the internet and dig some more info about the Qing Dynasty, so that the next time i visit the Forbidden City (again) it will be meaningful. And i would love to visit the Summer Palace again!
There's a song by Lin Jun Jie called Qi Dai. I asked Mr PA what it means, and he told me it's the pipe connecting the baby and the womb! Imagine a song about that??? Then again..he told me that is the meaning if it's pronounced as the third tone, and first tone would mean wait.
I guess wait should be exact meaning of the song??
Anyway, am going to continue with Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 today...many to go, yet the best thing is the Project is finishing soon (HURRAY)!!

PIMPLES!!!!!!!AHHH!!

I'm really not feeling well. Heavy head and couldn't focus at all in work just now...and my efficiency seemed to drop to nearly zero. Am so tensed up with work and baking that pimples start to pop out one by one. I hope they're gone soon...with the red dots over, my face looks like a white sheet with red polka dots.
Have been drinking lots of water today in hope that the pimples will go. Otherwise i will seek for medical or a skin specialist's advice. Can't afford to face another 'pimples-acne trauma'. Will drink more green tea and eat more guiling gao....And sleep before 10pm every night.
Sometimes i wonder why people are selfish. It's in them. It's their nature. They're born with it. But why? Every where and everyday i meet inconsiderate people. People who do not know how to appreciate, people who consider themselves first above all, people who don't think of others, and people who just simply knock you off. Sometimes i wonder if i'm too naive. When i do things for people out of care, concern and love, they take them for granted and leave me wondering what have i done wrong.

Another day...

Was sooo tired last night, i dozed off at 8pm, woke up at nearly 9pm to await Mr PA's call. Requested that he called last night, coz the credit on the calling card wasn't enough anymore, and also, just in case i overslept and couldn't wake up. Poor him, although we did talk for a while, it was like...i'm on the edge of falling asleep soon...His remark was, REALLY that tired meh? Don't know wor...suddenly just felt really unwell, and head very heavy.
Woke up at 1am again...coz tummy was in pain. Thought i couldn't sleep back but eventually i managed to, and straight till 5am when my alarm rang. Slept for further 30 mins before i ran down to make some choco rice cream bun and spicy floss bun for sisters to bring to school. JJ didn't sound very happy because she insisted that i should make egg mayo sushis at the first place, but i couldn't wake up so...she has to bear with bread instead. Oh well..it didn't matter so much anymore after Kimmie came down and said with her sweetest smile...Thank you Jieeeeeee.
That's the difference between sis 1 and sis 2. Not that i'm trying to side the other, but sometimes, this sis 1 should learn and appreciate things instead of taking things for granted, and assume that it's OUR responsibility to please her. It's so hard to communicate with her nowadays...
Anyway, back to work again....shouldn't be as busy as yesterday coz boss has left and me had finished the three chapters yesterday. Head is still pretty heavy but after a boost of coffee with the documents piling on my desk..i will forget about it soon!! :-P
Oh ya, know what...just pumped in some petrol this morning, first time since the rise in price...and it costs me RM 70 for a full tank now..:-(.

P/s: Hope you managed to put up the desk!!!! Countdown to 3 months and 3 weeks.

Father's Day

Today is a really busy day, everything came at the same time, and me only having a brain, two hands and a mouth, can only do one thing at one time. Nevertheless, it's under control now..:-)

I spent my last saturday baking two Father's Day cakes and blueberry muffins.

Below are my Father's Day cakes: the first one is a cross shaped chocolate sponge cake with chocolate topping, decorated with some purple and blue flowers. My blessings to all the fathers in the world........including my daddy and future daddy in law :-) Jesus loves alllllllll of you!!

P/S: They claimed that the cake was too beautiful to be cut....hehe...:-)

The second one is a combination of two heart shaped sponge cakes with cream cheese and shreded cheddar cheese on top. I wrote Daddy God, an indication of my appreciation to my Father God in Heaven for being the most marvellous Daddy in the world.

The two cakes are merely sponge cakes but i used 24 eggs to complete them all! However, amazingly, it took me only four hours to bake, and decorate them all!

I have also attached some pics of my blueberry muffins. There were 18 of them and only sold 12 for RM 2.5o each. Mom told me that they didn't taste as good as last time, but dad finished up 3 muffins, kimmie one, mom one and me the last one!
Didn't really do much on Father's Day. Managed to visit the new 1-borneo with family and we treated dad (but mom paid hehehe) to Sushi King. Gosh, dunno why that restautant is filled with people...the service there is really bad, food portion too little, sushi not as nice as wagamama and they even can charge you wrongly!!

Stress..stress..more

Stressed with pulp and paper mill project now. More stressed with the in-house coal fired plant. Imagine proposing a coal fired plant in Sabah, mei you si guo a?? My job is not easy at all. Regardless of that, i sort of find excitement in doing the Project. Challenging and interesting, that suits me a lot hehehe...Plus, i am professionally ethical, responsible and truthful, so will write nothing but facts only (so thick skinned hehe).
I baked seaweed butter cake and orange cake again last night coz they're simple and fast. Was kinda late already when i started due to the locked room case. Nevertheless, they still taste as good or better.
I have pics of two cakes i made last time in the below:

This was a fruit jelly cake, with sponge cake as the bottom layer, egg white meringue pudding as the middle layer and crystal jelly with fruits on top.

This cake was ordered by my colleague for her niece on her birthday. Couldn't remember what it was, but i think it was cotton cheesecake.

Someone sent this to me today, and thought of sharing this here. One of the most funny (i guess) jokes ever, since the rise in petrol price...

When I got home from work last night, my wife demanded that I take her out to some place expensive.....

........

........

So I took her to a petrol station.

Romantic hor?

LOCKED

Guess what, i was locked outside my room last night. Well, the thing is like this: i went up at 6.30pm to keep my handbag and office bag while visiting the toilet at the same time. And i grabbed a packet of chips from my food storage box and shut the door as i walked out. Went up again at 7.30pm and TA-DA!!....it was locked!!!! Worst still is..i Didn't Know where the key is!
Dad searched for the keys, grabbed a bunch of them and started trying one by one......Well, eventually everything din work coz the key just wasn't there!!! In the end, he had to use the hammer and screw driver and sort of break the door knob but eventually as he knocked, the door flew open!! Amazing...and all that took like nearly 2 hours..but my door is still in good condition..hehe
Haii..that is so PATHETIC!!...will be EXTRA EXTRA careful next time.

Saranghae not Sa-ra-he

I finally got it...it should be Saranghae instead of Sa-ra-he...hehehehe..Just in case you're wondering why my last post title was weird...well, i captured the word from a new song i heard this morning, which June has copied on the CD for me. Thought the song was kinda nice,a chinese song but got some phrases of Japanese? or Korean? in it.

Before i forgot..saranghae is really i love you in korean.

SA-RA-HE

Got my bao from a different shop instead this morning..this time it looks bigger than the ones i used to buy in another shop, though they're the same....hehe,so i can have more then. My pandan chiffon cake was a failure last night..thanks to my impatience, took it out too soon and didn't realise it wasn't cook until i was done with the lasagna..which was too late already:-(.

I've just uploaded some pics which i took last week. Here's the birthday carrot cake order on last Tuesday with lots of croquants....

And here's the engagement cake...with lots of love as requested...it didn't look very rectanguish though..

I was so excited with the kids last Sat,i took some pics of them..below is the trisome, of which the youngest (in front) was the little girl who asked whether i've showered after kissing me all over..hehehe..look how cheeky she is!! The other two are her sisters..who is the fairest among all?

This is 5 yr old little Stephie with Kimmie...she's an awesome dancer...and a very big EATER (always hungry..just like the girl next to her..HAHA)!

P/s: Sa-Ra-He, does that mean "I Love You"?

p3: THE LAST

Was feeling sick last night, thought maybe it was the heavy downpour yesterday, sort of got wet somehow. Still feeling a bit dizzy this morning, after a cup of coffee later, hope it'll be ok.
Got up rather early this morning at 5am to make some sandwiches for sisters..gave a strong warning to June not to steal my eggs (bad of me!!), coz they may not be enough for my cakes this weekend. Oh ya before i forgot, had 12 pieces blueberry muffins to meet this saturday and some cakes for Father's Day hehe :-).
Mic said p2 was hard last night, making me kinda worried, but i am learning to trust God..of course, if he passes all of them, i would be able to convince my parents confidently. Today is his last battle, yeah...i said it...LAST!! Again, all the best, my dear and may God's favour and wisdom be with you, and may the examiners find great favour with all your test answers..:-)
Am going to get my boost of coffee now......head's turning around soon.

p2 the third battle!

It was raining cats and dogs last night. Was stucked in the jam for almost an hour, coz the road in front of my office was flooded so everyone took the main highway which is the long route to my house. Nevertheless, thank God i arrived safely and sound :-).
Today's Micky's third battle, p2! I know he'll be ok, will continue to pray that God will bless him tremendously, and His favour will be upon him always that even the questions are favouring him..and the examiners who mark all his papers are happy with his work. Trust God, Micky!
Ever since the fuel price increases, the baos are much smaller in size...shrinking everyday..hahaha...hope my size also!

Upgrading works

Upgrading of the road culvert....the road leading to the office was completely blocked due to the upgrading works. I had to park my car in an uncomfortable condition, muddy and wet, and walked through the puddles and muddles to get into the office building this morning. Hope it doesn't rain later...otherwise my life will be even harder.
Back to the normal Monday blue...work again. Have been busy with praise kids thingy during the weekends, but it really pays back when you see the kids. Most importantly, it is for the glory of God. Baked a blueberry cream chocolate cake last night. I have this impression that most people don't like chocolate cake. It was NOT touched at all..but the cheddar cheesecake was special, a combination of salty and sour sweet. I love it, just that too much of it makes you feel like wanna puke hehe...and it's very filling.

:'(

Stressed and felt very bad today. Things didn't seem to look fine at work :-(.

Orange Butter Cake

Yum, i love this cake.. did i ever tell you it's one of my favourite cake? The tangy taste and smell that just waters your mouth.yuuummmm... Yup, after finishing the 3 kg carrot cheesecake without deco last night, i managed to bake an orange cake just for myself (primarily) and share it with family. I love it, boy i really do..i put extra orange rind to make it taste more 'orangy'..

The cakes are done, only some deco work tonight before they are ready for my client's engagement ceremony tomorrow morning. Just wondering how an engagement cake shd look like...white cream and flowers around? Hmm, will check it out later.

Today's Mic's 2nd battle!! It's p5 Day.....i know he'll pass it with flying colours because the One in him is greater than p5..hehe, ya, all the best dear and God bless you abundantly!! :-)

Back to work now....

Petrol price up by 78 cents today

The Malaysian Government announced Wednesday an increase in petrol and diesel prices, stating that it can no longer continue to subsidise fuel.
41% increase in petrol!!! And my salary doesn't increase as much as that!
Now with fuel price up, everything will sure follow, from food, clothing, flights, etc. etc.... and importantly the baking ingredients. Anchor Butter, originally RM 3.80 last June is now RM 7! Philiadephia cheese, originally RM 4.50 per 250g has gone up to RM 5.50! I wonder if they'll increase a further 41% due to the increase of fuel price...
Gosh, does that mean my cake price has to go up 41% as well?? RM50 of 1kg carrot cheesecake will soon be revised to RM70!

Message

Have I told you lately how much i love you? If no, i just want you to know that i love you very very much! :-) Do take care.

Who I am makes a difference

Life's unpredictable. I woke up today with the sun shining through my window only to realise deep down in me it's raining. Raining because life is unpredictable. Raining because i cannot control it.

Work is never my priority. Of course i do put my best in my work, but it never is my primary concern or something which i want to achieve so badly that i'll give up the world for it. No, it has never. Especially with the current rate i'm paid, i work for the glory of God instead.

What is actually my purpose? This is the question i've been dreading to find out for so long, but have not really confirmed myself to the answers i found throughout these years. Today, my friend forwarded a message that says WHO I AM MAKES A DIFFERENCE. Who am i really? Who am I? Have i made a difference to people's life when i can't handle my own? When i cannot achieve the things i really want? Or at least what i thought i couldn't achieve?

I will work hard to change my circumstances and then I will let God do the rest.

Love

Was feeling very upset last night. Sometimes i don't understand how things are supposed to work, when it's too late, it is just too late. No matter how hard i try, or how willingly i love someone despite of who they are...seems like in the end i'm the one who got myself into depression. Loving someone is not easy at all. To love means you voluntarily accept the weaknesses, attitude, character or treatment of that somebody, whether you choose to or not. To love means you sacrificially render whatever you have to that someone without expecting in return. It is not selfish nor is it self centered. Love is something that nobody can control, it's just limitless without boundary. How do you really define love? Love contains other things such as patience, forgiveness, hope, trust, faith, goodness, kindness...you name it. This is how i look at love. When you love someone, you look at his/her weaknesses and say to yourself, my love exceeds those. When you love someone, you put on deaf ears of whatever other people say about him/her and just thought that he/she is the best. When you love someone, you forgive and forget easily. When you love someone, you just want to spend your whole entire life with him/her. Love is defineless...1 Corinthians 13 says it all..

1If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. 4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

June the new baker in the block

Guess what? June actually baked last night! CHOCO CHIP COOKIES. She asked long time ago on the ingredients but i didn't really believe that she would actually go ahead with it, so kinda ignored her for a time being before she popped out the question again last night. In return for all the free ingredients i voluntarily gave her, she shredded the carrots and orange for my carrot cheesecake..:-) Good bargain huh?

Well, the cookies turned out really well (under my supervision of course HAHA) and everyone thought it tastes like the Famous Amos. I haven't tried it myself, still on this abstinence mood after what happened on Sunday night (tummy didn't really feel well, so thought i'll just give it a rest). Nevertheless, i bet it tastes really good, so good that i can actually feel sensation of its taste without having to try it!

Alongside with all these, i have also baked the banana roll cake, with the sponge cake looking like the tiger skin filled with creamy cheese and rolled with banana. In spite of what people used to perceive, i actually think that making cream layer cakes or swiss rolls are much easier and less time consuming than cheesecake or other butter cake. I guess it's because the pre-preparation of the raw materials are less in comparison, the baking time is so much shorter and last but not least, cream is actually much easier to be washed off than cream cheese or butter.

My next target would be egg and coconut tartlets..or some cream cheese layer cake filled with lotsa shredded cheddar cheese (a combination of salty and sweet), and some pineapple tarts/london almond this weekend as Kimmie will be back to savour then!
