Never Ending Baking in the Land Below the Wind

Baking is my never ending passion (or addiction?) regardless of where i am in this world, or how busy i am. And, secretly, for this reason, Hubby gets very upset with me sometimes, coz he thinks they're unnecessary at most times (which i do agree :-P) and he becomes paranoid when i stress myself over the border to bake something which people may not appreciate. One addiction which i would have trouble kicking off?

Just arrived early this morning from our busy exhausting trip home from KK. Took the midnight MAS flight from KL after spending a half day detour around Sunway Pyramid and The Curve. Amazing how we could actually fit everything into less than a day.

Wedding banquet and ceremony at church was excellent, thanks to mom, dad and sisters for organising and helping. Maybe it's due to busi-ness, but i seemed to feel like time is always running short in KK. First week busy preparing and baking cakes for the wedding. Second week busy showing non-KKers around, and then it's time to fly off. Can't even find a proper time to trim and redo my hair, or shop for stuff like curry powders, rempahs and local foods.

Oh well, thank God everything went well. Honestly i couldn't ask for more.

Just a recap of the goodies i baked in KK during the first week specially for my own wedding. I know it sounds a bit perculiar or odd that the bride has to do her own bakings for her own wedding; but somehow in my case, it's not the money issue (infact it costs more to bake myself than ordering!!), rather i think in a way it's more special and trustworthy to do them myself. Very unnecessary, this i understand, but it's important to me. Really is.

So here they are, my poor guests had to be fed with kek lapis. Took me 4 days to finish them all. First day, Blueberry Cheese; Second day, Prune Lapis; Third Day, Peanut Butter Steamed Lapis and Fourth day; Haw Cheese Lapis. I baked some light cheesecakes as well, but didn't manage to snap a photo before they were sent off.

And, last but not least, here are the goodies i baked before i left home for our farewell lunch party on the 26th. Some tarts and Fruity Cheesecake.

The Carrot Swiss Roll at the bottom of this pic is baked by my young Yee Yee.
