Granola bars - my unhealthy version

Granola bars are expensive items on any Asian market shelves. Even homemade ones are not cheap. Ingredients wise and their origin, no they don't come cheap. Not at all.

I decided to give a try yesterday in hope to replace Natural Valley or Alpen (konon) so that i don't have to waste money buying commercial ones and being unassured if they're as healthy as they claimed. At least i know what's in my version although they don't taste as good as the outside ones. And yeah, mine aren't healthy as well. :-P

I've done some research on granola bars and with slight modification, here's my version:
J's Unhealthy Granola Bars

Ingredients
1 cup of oats
1 cup of whole almonds and walnuts (or any nuts at your own preference)
1/4 cup of dessicated coconut
1/8 cup of sesame seed (half white and half black
1/4 cup of chopped milk/ dark chocolate
1/4 cup of honey
1/2 cup of crunchy peanut butter (Skippy would be the best)
1 tsp of vanilla essence
Method
1. Butter a loaf tin and line with greaseproof paper. Preheat oven to 180 oC.
2. Toast oats for 10 mins. Then add dessicated coconut and sesame seeds and toast for another 2 mins.
3. Heat honey, peanut butter and vanilla essence in a saucepan over medium heat. Mix until well combined. Remove from heat.
4. Add oat mixture to the honey mixture. Add nuts and chocolate. Sitr to combine.
5. Turn mixture to loaf tin and press evenly. Leave to cool and refrigerate. Cut into squares when firm.
6. Lightly toast bars in oven at 150 oC for 10 mins.

Same can be applied like my cheesecake bars, wrap granola bars in aluminium foil and snack whenever you wish
