Patience is what it takes

The more i look at recipes, or read other people's blogs, the more stuff i want to make/bake. From simple cakes to breads to pastries to layered cakes to chiffons or swiss rolls, everything!! I can't imagine my own obsession, and yes, i AM obsessed! Parents used to warn me not to hook too much into baking, afterall, an engineer still easily earns more than a chef pastry, right?
Some sausage rolls i baked not so long ago
I'm starting to feel very bad lately, wondering how the last five months have been spent without a proper job. I miss working, very badly. I miss cracking my head to solve a problem, i miss using my IQ to get things done appropriately and efficiently, i miss writing, i miss calculating, i miss site visits and outstations, i miss design works, i miss overtimes, i miss EVERYTHING about work!
Sometimes i wonder what is God's purpose for me to have this long break. Learn to be a good housewife and daughter in law? Learn all house chores? Or take a rest before the tough journey in four months time in a foreign place? Learn Mandarin? Master all baking skills?
Yes, He wants me to learn. Learn to be a better person, to sit quietly and still, to listen to what He has to say, of His plans for me and Hub, plans to prosper us not to destruct us. He has shown me the real world for the past months, He has proven how blessed I am in comparison to many people in this world and He has trained me to persevere in patience. He taught my heart to be patient, to wait upon His plan in faith and actions. **I love you my Lord and Saviour!!******
I haven't had any breaks as long as this (seriously) in my entire life. Went to school at the age of 3 till i graduated from university before my 21st birthday, started my first job just right after i became an "adult" (21) till i quitted my job last year. Perhaps it's true, when i look back in 10 years time, this break may then be necessary.
Also one of my excuses for baking extravagantly now. In many months to come, i will have to say goodbye to my recipe books, and baking tools. Not forever, but there will undoubtedly be a short period which i can't bake. Maybe a year or two. For this, i convinced myself to try out and master every skill i could, so that when it's time to give up, catching up later will be easier. Practice makes perfect, however of course, it's the quality that counts, not quantity. This, i often remind myself.
